How S&P Global and Measurabl Are Strengthening GRESB Verification and Assurance

We’re excited to announce an expanded partnership with S&P Global to offer independent GRESB verification services as real estate teams prepare for the upcoming reporting cycle.

This collaboration brings together Measurabl’s global data collection and management capabilities with S&P Global’s trusted third-party verification expertise—helping real estate firms worldwide strengthen data quality and unlock higher GRESB scores through verified indicators, including energy, water, waste, and emissions data.

Why GRESB Verification Matters

GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) is the leading global standard for measuring and benchmarking the sustainability performance of real assets. Each year, thousands of property companies, funds, and asset managers report to GRESB, and investors use those results to assess sustainability performance, risk exposure, and long-term value creation across the built environment.

Last year, Measurabl customers delivered strong results in the 2025 GRESB Real Estate Assessment—outperforming global benchmarks and extending a six-year trend of year-over-year improvement, with an average 3-point increase in score.

As GRESB’s verification requirements evolve, expectations from investors, regulators, and internal stakeholders are rising as well. The need for investment-grade sustainability data—data that is accurate, traceable, and independently reviewed—has never been greater.

Strong verification isn’t just about compliance. It helps improve scores through verified indicators, reduces risk, and builds trust in the data used for decision-making.

How Verification Works Through Measurabl and S&P Global

Through this partnership, Measurabl customers can choose to engage S&P Global’s Climate and Sustainability Services team to independently verify portfolio-level data submitted to GRESB.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

    • S&P Global securely accesses that data on the customer’s behalf

    • S&P professionals perform traceability checks, data sampling, and validation across key metrics

    • When questions or gaps arise, S&P Global works with property teams to review documentation, with Measurabl supporting the process to ensure data quality and completeness
The result is a streamlined, end-to-end verification process that typically takes four to six weeks, without duplicative workflows or manual handoffs.

Measurabl’s platform also includes Sustainabl1 physical climate risk insights from S&P Global, and this expanded collaboration now brings that same level of rigor into GRESB data verification.
